If you have diabetes, it’s common to have more trouble managing your blood sugar during cancer treatment. There are many reasons for this.
Some medicines, such as corticosteroids, and other therapies used to treat cancer can raise blood sugar. These treatments can also cause high blood sugar in people who haven't previously been diagnosed with diabetes.
Some types of cancer, such as pancreatic cancer, can also cause blood sugar changes.
Stress, infections, and changes in your usual eating and activity habits can also lead to higher blood sugar during your cancer treatment.
